Three Countries in Three Weeks

As most of you all
know, the College Downtime staff has spent the majority of the past month or so catching up after our little tequila-filled,
business excursion to Cancun, Mexico. We've come back with over 300 hi-res, digital pictures and movies that document all
our drunken whereabouts; from the crazy nights out at the wildest
clubs this hemisphere has to offer, to the interesting mid-day trips to downtown Cancun. We've got pics and movies of
midgets, freaks, bikini and hot-body contests, chicks
making out, even gorgeous shots of the incredible beaches you could find us at during the day. We're nearly done
compiling all the stories, cropping all the photos, and editing all the movies so we can bring them online, to share it with
you. It was quite the crazy week, one that was definately the highlight of our summer. However, that week was just the
beginning for yours truly.
After being home for about 4 hours after arriving back in Chicago from Cancun, I was already packed again and heading out;
although this time I was headed in the opposite direction. After a 12 hour drive North to the hoser-friendly city of Wa Wa, Canada, I boarded
a small Cessna plane with my pops, uncles, and cousins for a 30 minute flight up to a little place I call, "B.F.E."
Actually, it's really called Pine Portage Lodge or something, but it was surprisingly really nice. However, the nearest
phone line near this place was like 30 miles away, so technically we were in the middle of nowhere. We were there to drink, fish, and relax. Exactly in that
order.
Now coming off a week in Cancun and an average of 20-some margaritas a
day, it might be a good idea to take a break. You know, sober up a bit. To make a short story even shorter, I threw
that shitty idea out of the fuckin' boat as soon as I saw the $400 worth
of LaBatt Blue. So my family likes to drink, so what? As fun and as relaxing lying on the white, sandy beaches of
Cancun was, it was honestly more relaxing being 30 miles away from any other civilization while I kicked back, had a few
Blues, and hung out with my dad and family. Maybe my ears were still used to the insane club experiences of La Boom and the
Bulldog Cafe, but sitting in a boat 30 miles from any civilization (if you could call Wa Wa actual civilization) in literal,
complete silence was like complete utopia. It's so peaceful, and if you haven't experienced anything like this well, that sucks. Couple that with the awesome
feeling of eating what we caught, and shooting the shit with your close family and you have one relaxing week that the LaBatt
Brewing Co. would be damn proud of. Not a bad two weeks, eh hosehead?
So now that we're back, what can you expect? For starters you'll be seeing our frontpage updates return to normal, usually
anywhere of 3-5 articles per week. You'll see constant new articles from our staff columnists, more review sections being
added, more hilarious content, and quite a few design changes that will make your College Downtime surfing experience a much
better one. To be more specific, look out this week for a Doom 3 review, tons of new content sections, and more free stuff to jam pack into your dorm room than
you could possibly fit. The entire staff at College Downtime thanks all of you for your support and we want to let you know
that you're in for a treat. As you settle into your respective on or off-campus housing this week, be sure to stop in when
you take a break from organizing your beer bottle
