Don't Forget, Don't Ever Forget

July 4th is one of the most important days of the calendar year, if not the most. While it is primarily a day of celebration, it also acts as a day of remembrance and more importantly one of reflection. When you go out to see the fireworks, or are out barbequing with your friends and family, take a moment and reflect back on what this great country provides for you. No, not those sweet M-3000's you can get across the border in Indiana; deeper values and rights that people around the world are jealous of and hate you for. Beyond that, next time you hear our national anthem take the time to listen to the words, to understand what they mean, and to feel what you are a part of. Remember that there are over 100,000 U.S. troops, both male and female, over in the Middle East risking their lives so that you can live safely. If we did not have the brave men and women who willingly volunteer to serve our country, then people like you and I would be forced to do it. Remember that next time you see a serviceman or woman on the street. Remember that next time you hear our national anthem. Remember that next time you salute our flag.
September 11th, 2001, is a day that must never be forgotten. Never. It is something that must always be on your mind, not just one day a year, but every day. Nearly 3,000 Americans were killed that tragic day, and as a result wounding thousands upon thousands of family members, friends, and fellow citizens. Don't forget how millions of people throughout the Middle East erupted in pleasure after seeing the World Trade Center towers come crippling down, taking our brave firefighers, policemen, and others with them as they tried to save others. Tomorrow on our nation's Birthday take the time to look back at one of the most tragic events that has ever taken place on our soil. Whether it's simply looking at the moving photos, reading the old news stories, or even thinking back to where you were on that fateful morning. Take the time to talk with your family and friends because all of us are forever affected by that tragic day.
So tomorrow when you're relaxing with the ones you love and care about, take a moment to reflect. Take a moment to say Thank You, to salute our flag, and to be grateful for the many rights and freedoms that we exercise daily, many sub-consciously. Normal updates will return on Monday, as we are off for the holiday as well. If you don't have any plans tomorrow, be sure to check out all the new content that has been sprayed all over this site. If you really want to have a special Fourth of July tomorrow, then click here to create a custom care package to one our U.S. Servicemen or woman serving somewhere in the world. Sending a care package is one of the best ways to truly say "Thank You" to our troops, and it lets them know how much you care about them and how much you support them. Thousands of Americans say they support our troops, but when it comes down to it, none of them will even voice a simple "Thank You" when they see them on the street. You can change all that by making one or more of our troops over in the Middle East extremely happy, and you don't even have to leave your computer chair. All it takes is two minutes of your Sunday and it will mean the world to one of our troops serving over in the Middle East right now. I just sent a Marine from Illinois some food, some face and hand wipes, and a 120 minute phone card for next to nothing. Support our troops and say Thank You!
